How Can TKDP Help Me Live A Life of Worship?

Matthew 7:21-23

21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ 23 Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"

The Known Disciple Project Works To Help People Be Known By Jesus

We Often Feel Like We're Living Two Lives as Christians?

Beginning a spiritual journey as a Christian can be both inspiring and challenging. It's not uncommon to accept salvation and then grapple with a disheartening lack of progress in your spiritual growth. This often feels like a constant tug-of-war between two worlds – one entrenched in worldly norms and the other earnestly seeking Jesus. This internal conflict can lead to a profound crisis of identity. In this journey, Christians frequently face:

Stagnant Spiritual Growth: Wrestling with the feeling of spiritual stagnation, brought on by a lack of clear guidance, structured practices, and meaningful connections.

Habitual Hurdles: Confronting the monumental task of unraveling a lifetime's worth of unhealthy and worldly habits, striving to replace them with godly ones.

Identity Confusion: Struggling to find a sense of purpose and personal identity amidst a world that often pulls in different directions.

Accountability Gap: Yearning for a supportive and nurturing environment that fosters faith and personal growth, often missing in a busy and disconnected world.

A Deep Desire to Be Known: Longing for profound and authentic connections, not just with fellow believers but with Jesus Himself, in a world that can often feel shallow and disconnected.

A Disciple Follows The Teacher

The Bible shows that a disciple is a follower, a learner, or a student of a teacher. The student is growing to be more like the teacher each day. A disciple is someone who not only believes in the teachings of their teacher but also seeks to put those teachings into practice in their own life through personal and spiritual growth. Here are some key passages that illustrate this for us:

Luke 6:40: "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher."

Disciples aspire to become like their teacher, Jesus, through training and learning.

John 8:31: "So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, 'If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples."

True disciples remain in Jesus' teachings, demonstrating their commitment to His words.

John 13:35: "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."

Disciples are recognized by their love for people, reflecting Jesus' love.

By focusing on six key areas of life, The Known Disciple Project helps Christians remove the obstacles that hold them back from living a life of worship and growing as a person. By giving focus to the Emotions, Thoughts, Spiritual, Physical, Social, and Environmental areas of life, we help each other thrive, grow, and be known.
